Thank you marshtric for starting a great conversation. I personally use socialmarker.com which is not an automatic submitter, but helps you walk thru your submissions. Please note that not all of links work on socialmarker either. I will say that I have had good response on backlink building from some, but not all sites, and now try to focus on those which work the best.

Hello Atul, I have had the best response from propeller, digg, stumbleupon, misterwong, and shpinn. I believe though I get better response for quality commenting on related blogs and forums and quality articles that get picked up and distributed.

All of them work better if other people submit them to those sites,especially if they add comments.I have over a thousand sites and a thousand articles bookmarked and find my return traffic comes from backlinks to articles from various forums,blogs and Stumbleupon.

The TITLES of articles really matter, not just to encourage people to read.. also to get them to pick up articles or reference posts on their blogs..

Ranzuken gave a list of 183 different websites to bookmark. Now, this is good information but think of the work involved in bookmarking to 183 places if you have more than one website. Even one website is a "tall task" - don't get me wrong it's not laziness talking but it's about working "smarter" not "harder" mentality.

If there's a tool into which these 183-sites can be inputted and the various usernames and passwords entered to place this on autopilot, then that would make this process fairly effortless. Also, most of us are running one-person offices.
