Default We don\'t use automated tools.

We prefer to do good old research instead of using these automated tools and services and here\'s why. When we were launching our SEO site we used WordTracker and Google AdWords.

One of the must used searches was organic SEO. Since that was our area of specialty we focused on that keyword phrase for our city of Business. We soon landed at Number 1 for the search \"Organic SEO Tucson.\" However after several months of being #1 for that search no one had every found our site for this search.

It was then that I realized that my potential clients likely didn\'t know what SEO was, let alone what the heck organic SEO was. It was then we started think like a small business owner and we started focusing on Local SEO and increased website traffic Tucson.

What I learned was this we professional tend to search for topics using industry speak that is not generally used by our potential clients. Also if you used WordTracker or AdWords on the same day as someone else that searched for the same keyword phrase you would all end up with the same results. I didn\'t see any advantage to this. So ever since this experience we have relied on good old research to set ourselves apart. The results have been impressive.

Thanks... We learned the hard way but we learned. We are a better service provider for having learned this. You may also miss regional expressions in language using automated tool.

Where I grew up we has a River that flowed trough the town. It was spelled French Creek, but it was pronounced French Crick. It is not unreasonable for some one to spell it as the pronounced it when doing a Google search.

The issue about professionals using technical speak is very instructive. Just remember, most people be there ordinary individuals or people working for companies, search primarily in English and by using natural language phrases...

Let me give you a ridiculous but very real example. One of my clients recently told me that an SEO expert had developed a link building campaign for his Real Estate business using the long tail keyword phrase "half man half tree" and then proceeded to justify this by talking about some nonsense to do with the esoteric nature and thinking of high value purchasers of my client's properties and how they were interested in green issues and so "half man half tree" hit the mark.

Watch out for the experts and demand explanations if it does not make common sense.

Thinking like the customer. What a novel approach!

Cool Re: We don\'t use automated tools.

I do use automated tools and get good results, very good results. One small problem is that although takes me 24 to 48 hours to get on fist page in Google after a week or two Google does the "Google Dance" and land me on second or third page.

Recently to get more stability, what I do is post keyword phrases on all my 16 sites which link to the site I want to promote. Also promote the RSS feed from every site, re post an article to free blogs and many social bookmarking places. That refreshes the "link Love" over the internet and I am back on first page.

As for keywords research I use a software that is part of my membership. It tells me the most keywords phrases searched for and if the domain has been registered or not.
I registered a similar domain businesswebhosting.com was taken so I registered businesswebhostingcom.com (not live yet)

This way I have all keywords I need and more to rank high. This site by the way is not live yet but I will document here how automation pays... and how I will take it from day one being live to first page on Google in 48 hours (hope) Holly Mann knows just how competitive "webhosting" is as I know she makes good money promoting web hosting as an affiliate...

OK so hopefully I will make videos but if not at least will tell you when the site is NOT Live.
When it goes live, and then the ranking in Google after 24-48 72 hours... you could verify.

Cheers!

It will be very interesting to get Paul's view....Paul is one of the founders and adminstrators of this site and owns and runs a massive SEO business with some of the biggest global names as customers....

I have to say, that whilst he continues to use the unmysterious tried and tested strategies....he is continually exploring cutting edge techniques and never fails to get page one and more often than not position one.

He's on holiday with the family for a week now....but I am sure we will be hearing a lot more from him.
