Google AdWords is one of the most effective ways to advertise your business and bring traffic to your website. However, if you don\'t have an ad that stands out and draws the searcher\'s attention, it is hardly likely to be effective. Here are three terrific AdWords tips that will help you maximize the visitor counter to your website.

Tip #1-Refine your Keywords

If you want to target your audience, one way to do this is to use [brackets] around your keyword or keyword phrase. This will automatically restrict the posting of your ad to the bracketed keywords only. For example, [red wine] will be targeted to those looking for red wine, not just wine.

Tip #2- Make your Keywords Stand Out

Highlight the keywords in your ad by bolding the text. Web ads are all about drawing the customer\'s eye and it is important to must make sure that what they are searching for stands out.

Tip #3- Get Rid of the Freebie Hunter

Each time someone clicks on your ad, it costs you money. Most of the freebie hunters will not purchase anything at your website. By placing the cost of your item in your ad, you will deter these searchers and lower the cost of your pay per click visitors that don\'t make a purchase.

There you have it. These are three of the best AdWords tips for bringing high amounts of traffic to your site. However, you also want to make sure the traffic you bring is target traffic who will be most likely to purchase your product or service.

Nice post.

For Tip #1, do you mean by putting the [keyword] in the keyword list will help to restrict others from searching the ad?
For example [red wine], if others are searching brand x red wine, will your ad appear?

Also remember that whilst Google Adwords is without doubt the quickest way of getting traffic to your site to start marketing and selling, if you don't do it correctly, you can easily loose your shirt and spend way way too much money.

One quick tip:

Opt Out of the Content Network in the Edit Settings Tab when launching your ad....if not you will automatically and by default have your ads presented via the AdSense strategy, placed on all sites with violence, crime, obscene and profane language and so the list goes on.

My friend Paul Lynch, a fellow administrator and a world class SEO expert has debated this automatic opt in with Google time and time again....but alas at present, all to no avail.

So yes, it's great, yes use it judiciously, but at least each and every time opt out of .

I'd add to the #3 point by saying try to include anything else that might deter the casual clicker. For me that is staing that my car warranties are only available on cars up to 5 years old

On point #2 just tried to make the keyword bold can't see how to actually do i. can you advise ?

Just run your cursor over the words you want to make bold while hloding the left mouse key and those words get highlighted.Then click the B at the top left of the reply box you are typing in..
The highlighted words get surrounded by <b code,open and closed.When you post ,the highlighted text is Bold -y-sized.

Absolutely.You can lose your shirt if you do it wrong .Do it right with lots and lots of research or guidance and adwords more than pay for themselves.The article above does mention that.It is a bit hard to read as one long paragraph [sorry]
