Default Fear Motivation Story - MUST READ!

    Hi Folks,

I have to share one of my favorite fear motivation stories with you....I hope you like it as much as I did.

A rich Texan threw a mammoth party one night and invited dozens of people with a special emphasis on young men of marriageable age. As the evening wore on and most of the guests were feeling no pain, the host invited everyone to join him around the pool which he had carefully stocked with water moccasins and alligators. He challenged his guests to swim the length of the pool and offered the choice of three substantial prizes, $1,000,000 in cash, a thousand acres of choice land, or his daughter's hand in marriage. The words were scarcely out of his mouth when there was a loud splash followed by a furious thrashing of water and the almost immediate emergence of a young man from the opposite side of the pool, who had just set a never to be broken world record.

The host enthusiastically congratulated the young man and then, true to his word, asked the dripping winner about his choice. Would it be the $1,000,000? The young man shook his head no. The 1,000 acres of land? Again, no. Then would it be the hand of his daughter in marriage? When the young man again said no, the host, somewhat exasperated asked. "then what do you want?" The young man quickly responded, "I want to know the name of the man who pushed me in the pool."

What motivates people most - fear of failure of wish for success?
I think people mainly fall into one of these categories.

Very funny Trafficman. Demonstrates a good point though. To take action you have to desire the reward more than you fear failure.

    See you later, alligator!

Great story! And yes, sometimes it takes a good PUSH to get you to do something that you though was impossible!

You and I are essentially infinite choice-makers. In every moment of our existence, we are in that field of all possibilities where we have access to an infinity of choices.

Read this joke before but still had a laugh. If I was in his place I would have asked for one of the three option in addition to the name of the guy who pushed me

Between the two - fear of loss and pleasure of gain - the greater motivating factor is fear of loss. That's something to bear in mind in your copywriting.

Hi Trafficman nice story - Is it fear that keeps us going or our courage that drives us ever forward - I personally think it is courage. Quitters never win and winners never quit.

funny- But people have to realize that we have only one life to live. yes, i was one those people who was living their fears instead of their dreams. I've decided I was going to go for my dreams instead of being the one who would say I've shoulda, I've coulda or I've woulda. This is my life and If I leave here 2morrow I and they can say I tried.
