I have started receiving notifications of linkbacks for the first time since joining this forum.
Yes I did read the explanation but don't fully understand it. I am hoping someone with more knowledge can explain it better for me and for all the other people who are probably wondering the same thing.

The word linkbacks caught my eye, actually anything with the word for links catchs my eye

Well Boomer, it just shows that "seniors" don't know everything.
Everyone has their own level of expertise and knowledge and we are all both students and teachers, sharing what we can with others and learning what we can from others also.

A linkback is a method for Web authors to obtain notifications when other authors link to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking to, or referring to, their articles.
