Thread: New at Squidoo: The Ever Project

Hi Everyone!

I can\'t believe I am first to post about this, so if it is old news just skip over this, if not I think this one has potential.

Squidoo is offering to give a lens to people that want to have a domain such as the best, worst, cutest, etc. Next add a keyword such as pies, cakes, tvs, phones (whatever) and then squidoo adds .ever.com to the new domain.

i have built several lenses but did not know about the ever.com extension. that will be my next project.

I've never gotten decent traffic from Squidoo. It's a waste of time for me. Okay, you get a link. Big whoop. I can get good links without alll the hassle.

What have you done to promote your lens?

It doesn't matter where you host a page, whether it be on your blog, website or a Web 2.0 site, you can't expect it to generate traffic unless you promote it.

I use Squidoo in link wheels all the time because it is a high PR site that the search engines love. It doesn't take much work to drive traffic to it IF you have done the proper keyword research and use it as one part of your SEO strategy.

i tried to create a lens and unlike squidoo i had to input all the info at the time of creation. at squidoo i can grab the the name and come back later to build the lens. do you know how to just create the site on ever.com and save it for later?

Get open office and you can create links that are clickable in pdf.

I've gotten decent traffic from squidoo using the proper tags and a number of sales- no complaints here

I've also done well using squidvids which allows you too build online tv channels for free.

How is ".ever.com" different than adding "ever" to the URL for a normal Squidoo lens? Sounds like a Squidoo marketing tactic to get a bunch of new lenses built.

My Squidoo lens traffic has been hit or miss, mostly misses.

Interesting mixed responses on Squidoo. Personally, I've never had any luck with it but good to hear a few success stories here.

Squidoo is a great way to build a little extra income. One lens I built gets around 250 visits a week which is a nice way to fund other projects. Remember folks it's all about building a network of sites that interlink- Squidoo, blogs, websites, myspace, your youtube channel, forums etc. this increases your visibility in the search engines and as a person too.

Come to think about it, I need to build a few more lenses...

A lot of people get upset with Squidoo because they don't get enough traffic or they want to promote something the site won't allow.

Squidoo is an excellent way to branch out and find a new way to round out your web personality. Even if you can't use it for specific sales or signups, its a valuable resource to define who you are, which if you're looking to build a team or reputable business, is key!

Squidoo is more than just a blog , there are a lot of free ebooks on it, so you really have to know it before giving an opinion. Here are some numbers
