    You're Welcome Alison!

I haven't sent a broadcast in a couple weeks, and my Alexa ranking has gone up a few points...so this was making it go down, so it must work.

    Good Luck!

    Scott

Scott, I don't have a list yet and am lost as far as what to do to start generating one and how to capture the emails. Can you give me any advice?

    Thanks

If you have a lot of twitter followers (I have 10k+) a quick tweet will bring a lot of traffic as well!!

I do the same thing with many niche subscriber lists I have. I call it the "''week in review".
My followers love it - the tire kickers opt out. Just the way I like it....

Don't forget about the folks you prefer to subscribe via RSS. Feedburner allows you to subscribe by email through RSS, no autoresponder needed.

David Jay: Does feedburner only work for blogs or can it work for static sites too? Thanks

Alexa as you probably know is owned by Amazon, so please understand it is not a totally objective source of data and in terms of analysing link backs, it is just about useless.

Check out our academy on it cambridgebusinessacademy.com you will see it currently states about 27 links I think. Well Paul and I can demonstrate evidence of well over 20,000 links many .org and .edu hence our indexing and fast climbing rankings to page one of Google for 4 very high value key words.

Now they also offer lots of other stats, again, take them with a pinch of salt.

However, the traffic measurement stats are good as is the toolbar you can easily download onto into your browser. And the only way you can influence this is via traffic, so whether PPC or organic SEO you traffic via Twitter, blasts, or all the other traffic strategies we teach and support within this community will help you drive down your Alexa ranking.

The magic number every one looks for is to break the 100,000 site ranking.. and it doesn't have to take long...

@snowflys - I'm not sure but if Feedburner requires an RSS feed (I think it does) you could try xmlfeedgenerator.com or htmltorss.com (this one appears to down currently) to turn your html into an RSS feed and see if you can point that feed to Feedburner.

You can use feedvalidator.org to make sure the RSS feed you create is valid.

Good luck, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Great idea...and I also ask my subscribers to Tweet the article after they've read it.

    Hey guys,

Scott is right. I have been using this technique for a very long time and it works great. Not only does your Alexa ranking improve but you end up getting more subscribers, loyal following and better open rates.

    Why?

Because you are providing a real value to your subscriber (unless your blog posts are selling something).

As far as the frequency goes, I think it all depends on your list and what they are used to. If I write an article 3 times a week on my blog, I'll share it with my list and they love it. Yes I will get few unsubscribes but if they unsubscribe to an email that is proving them with great content, I don't want them on my list anyway.

This is an excellent method and is a double whammy as your subscribers will love getting info for free without sales pitch and having a better alexa rank has multiple benefits. I use this method as well as mass paid traffic to bring down my alexa so I can earn more money from advertising on my blogs like textlinkads. Good stuff Scott
