Thanks Cathy - very simply explained. Maybe we should all know this but everyone has to start somewhere.

A quick tip here. Offering to sign up as a DMOZ editor can help you get your site listed on this, the largest directory on the net with an ILQ score of 5.8 million.

But of course, you must be prepared to then participate as an editor, attention to detail, etc.

Good info and really necessary to do all or combination of traffic driving strategies.

I have tried Jeff “Herschy” Schwerdt Viral Submitter which is a Free download. Just Google "Viral Submitter" and the software allows you to submit articles, press releases, videos etc. Kind of a "one stop shop"

It saves time and its free. can't ask for more than that.

Great tips - here are two other tips that you MUST follow to get good and quality traffic from your blog...

• Post regularly - I find once a day is important, especially when you are starting out
• Know your keywords - you want to optimize blog posts around keywords that you know will a) get traffic and b)convert readers into actions (opt-in's or sales) for your niche

You are spot on with what you say about posting everyday in the beginning.

The posting depends on what type of blog you have. I would suggest posting at least everyday on a wordpress built blog and maybe once or twice a week on a blogger.com blog.

The key is to offer your readers the real juicy stuff rather than posting everyday and waffling on about nothing.

Keywords are paramount for optimizing and getting your blog indexed. I use the All-in-one SEO pack plugin to give my blogs extra umph.

what does a blog have ? well if its a self hosted wordpress blog
Plugins some plugins are great if you choose well.

onlywire plugin it costs but every post you make this plugin will post to social sites to get backlinks

rss agregators [i can never spell that one lol]

If you are involved in affiliate marketing, MLM or any business for yourself, having a blog is essential. But having a blog doesn't do you any good unless you can drive traffic to it. Here are some great ways to get more traffic to your blog:
1) Create at least four keyword posts per day. Use a service like RSS 2 Blog and create several posts at once and have them served up one at a time.

Thanks for the tip on onlywire plugin for self hosted blogs.

I have just installed it to my blog and bingo can submit all my posts to several social bookmarking sites in just seconds.

Just wanted to add that you can get the plugin free from onlywire.com if you agree to add the plugin button on your blog and into your browser. I personally don't like to pay for plugins so thought others may benefit from this extra tip.

Some good tidbits of information about getting traffic to your blog. Since there is such a demand for unique quality content on the internet, the blogging model works wonderfully with the search engines.

I see "unique content" spoken about all over the internet from matt cutts he is a google software engineer and worked there since 2000

just a idea put this in google and see
matt cutts duplicate content

check out a few posts

if your in a subject and do talk about it alot you are bound to side track on certain stuff so unique is not really unique if you get what i mean.

there are aswell plugins for the lazy people like

these plugins muck about with the code of your site and once installedit is best that you do not remove them.

i have all of the above and have tryed them all so you could say they have been tested.

but can i say like with a email and a blog both have titles involved so maybe before you make that next post on a certain topic do some research as to what would be the best words to use and youmay find your self ranking more better aswell.

Just seem to pick up more and more information & tips every day - so much could have adverse effects on my marketing
