When you are offered 75% - 100% commission on affiliate products it is very hard to refuse. But can you really get rich by being affiliated or are you just helping them get rich?

Yes you can...like eric said, it is really about getting the basics down (of course volumes can be written on each step) and I will add not giving up to that list.

On top of what Eric has said, you also have to take into account the niche you're marketing to and select appropriate products for that niche. For example, if you have a mailing list of dog lovers or blog for dog lovers, it is no good marketing a product to them that doesn't cover their interest.

Also, usually when you see someone offering 100% commission, their main interest is in building their own list and not yours.

Well actually we do...we do not attempt to entice any body to purchase any product or service for quite some time and prior to that we deliver masses and masses of value via reports and video all carefully crafted and shaped to take them on a useful journey. The point and purpose in this is that we want to build a high level of trust....

Guess what happens next when people know you and absolutely trust you....

You do not have to offer guarantees....they know you are good for your word, they know you will support them....and they know that in the rare exceptions when the product is just not suited or does not work....that you will still happily refund them..

Now most of my illustrious colleagues will think I am plan daft....

But I have to tell you we have never operated differently and Paul and I make an outstanding living, helping, building relationships and enjoying the fruits..

I think the threads on mindset are related to this. Yes you can make alot of money through affiliate marketing. In the end it does come down to mindset first and then systems second.

Hey Eric,

No one has to purchase anything to get paid with affiliate marketing. You can get paid for leads and free trials using CPA marketing.

Affiliate marketing can be a tricky business, especially for newbies.

You are really in the lead generation business and so it is hard to build up a sustainable business for yourself - what happens when your vendor changes his offer? Google changes the rules so your sites are not pulling as much traffic etc etc.

One way to insulate yourself against this is to treat it as a list building excercise - send traffic to a page which sells people on joining your email list (for a free report, guide, mini course etc). Then use an auto responder series to gently presell your leads on the value of affiliate product X. You need to be careful to build a good relationship with your list - it is not enough to send out lame emails full of affialie links - people only buy from people they like and/or trust and so make sure you are providing value to your list as well as pre selling them.

The other great thing about building your list is that now you have a chance to start segmenting the list into buyers and non buyers. You will soon discover that once people have followed your affiliate link and purchased a product they are more likely to buy from you again. The first sale is ALWAYS the hardest. The real gold lies in your segmented buyers list - as long as you keep building relationships with them you will be able to offer them useful affiliate products to buy (or even develop info products yourself if you can see what your list is hungry to buy).

Now you have the makings of a real business. Just remember that this all takes time, there are no shortcuts, and the really important point here is that you will only profit if you build a great relationship with your list.

In my experience it is a really useful skill to pursue.

The other thing to consider is scale. If you build a niche affiliate marketing site that is attracting traffic, building you a list and making you (say) only $100 per month, then build another 9. Now you have $1000 per month. Keep doing this until you reach a figure that makes you happy.

Now the interesting thing is that along the way, one of your sites where you do everything the same will more than likely make significantly more money than the rest. This will be one of your "focus" sites that you'll devote more time to. Each time you identify a focus site, you have a starting point to build more avenues for traffic - it's now just a numbers game.

Over time, you'll build a portfolio of "focus" sites that make you good money, and a larger portfolio of sites that you do very little with, but that collectively generate an additional, moderate income every month.

Once you reach this point, you simply need to define what "rich" means to you! ;)

Yes! You can get rich through affiliate marketing, doing it through clickbank or commission junctions.

If you go the CPA route, make sure it is a CPA network that will actually pay you for the lead(s) you brought in. Track ! Track !! and Track !!!.

Maybe. But in my opinion CPA stinks so much that I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Affiliate Marketing has not made me rich - but I do do okay.
Its not a overnight get rich scheme and dont pin your hopes on it to give you a fulltime income straight out of the gate.

This is a long term business that needs a good plan and sticking to it.
Just like anything in life - no guarantees!

yes, i think so..... i can see kids getting rich that way (they have learned seo, market research, driving targeted traffic, writing articles, making valuable videos etc)... i mean i saw one 16 year old kid in another forum teaching about these things, and those 21year olds having 6 or 5 figure income , and going for 7 figures..... im subscribed in their newsletters by the way, they don't sell crap and they're very honest...... i just have to learn the SKILLS needed to really get rich online

Just like others have said here, it's all about the formula ...

the formula I use to know how much work I will need to get done to reach my desired results. What am I talking about?

Traffic x Conversion Rate x Value = Profit … it is really this simple. For example, I want to make $400 a month online for starters, ok? It is statistically proven that 2% of my website visitors should buy from me. For me to get my desired $400 a month, I need 2000 website visitors with a product to sell of $10.

Of course if I had a higher priced item, I would need less visitors. Makes sense to me, does it to you? Let's examine my desired monthly results in "the formula" …

Traffic x Conversion Rate(statistics say 2%) x Value = Profit
2000 x 2% = 40 x $10 = $400

Now I know what I need to succeed. 2000 website visitors a month is a very realistic goal and should be reachable if the blog I build is set up properly. I should have no problem following the formula to reach $400 a month. I hear you saying, that's it? Only $400 a month? Really?

Well, that would be a nice extra amount of money for me, wouldn't you like an extra $400 per month? Plus once I get it to work I'm going to use the "secret method" to turn that into money a month. Shhhhhhh, don't share this secret method with anyone, ok? It'll be our secret.

"Rinse, Repeat, and Profit!" … get one blog making my desired results and do the process over and over. Now the $400 x 10 successful blogs turns into $4000 a month

Knowing what you need to do to make the desired income is how you know if Affiliate Marketing Can Really Make You Rich

It sure can you just have to get good at it its a science that has to be learned like being a Dr. But with a much lower learning curve!
