if you participate in giveaways with GiveawayManager then as a newbie you really can suffer, they have restrictions

if you join a giveaway that uses

then you are usually welcomed, yeah there is restrictions but really only on traffic, e.g if there is no activity on your jv and member url then you can get downgraded.

I DONT participate in giveaways with the giveawaymanager, brad smith used to have it, i think guido now works with it.

But using scott cases script, you can build up a good list fast without all the rules attatched and getting booted for not getting the required members to your link, e.g loosing your gift submission and giving the owner members to his/her list.

Actually I think i will re run mine, left it dormant for the last year, so might set it up for a few months time, no restrictions.

Wow! I haven't been on for a while and I see some really great advice on here!

Some have mentioned giveaway manager. Some blame the software, but that's not the problem. In the software points can be set by the administrator. I hate to see software get a bad rap because of the people using it, setting points too high for newbies to be able to compete. I have been working with giveaway manager 2 and have reset the points easily, so please don't get mad at the software.

-still not sure? join anyway, you can always drop out

Interesting point about giveaway rules. I recently joined a giveaway in a niche area and it clearly stated that NO Internet Marketing products would be accepted - and there are loads of them! I hate that, why don't administrators stick to their own rules?? It's my first giveaway and it has left a bad taste for me. It's put me off doing another even though I have signed up for two future ones. Just not sure now.

I was recently surveyed by a giveaway promoter investigating why he was only obtaining low numbers of contributors joining him. I replied to him pointing out his minimum requirements were so high he could only attract contributors with large lists eliminating most contributors looking to get a foothold.

To date, no reply from the promotor.

Mandy,this is happening all the time but you soon get to know the good promotors so keep at it. Another frequent problem is contributors submitting products where they do not hold a licence to give away the product. Unfortunately, this is where contributors have to police themselves.

as do others. Don't let this experience you stop you from such a great way of building your list and ultimately gaining great jv friend and partners. Seriously, this is a great way to build your list.

I've built a great list from giveaways but too be honest, it's not a responsive email list.

Most seem to use "free" emails i.e.

Looking all these recent JV gift giveaways, I keep seeing the same contributors - and giving away similar rehashed PLR products.

However, most of the people joining your list will be newbies - so you can target products for new Internet marketers.

Ironically, the best email list of subscribers I got is from the current Self-Help giveaway...and it's not in the IM niche.

Isn't that interesting that your best response has been from a non IM niche? We should start putting together more giveaways that are in different niche's and see what results we get. I think that could be really interesting, don't you?

I'm with you. This really shows people are out there looking for information to improve themselves in all sorts of areas.

I also had a great response with this giveaway but the effort ahead is to provide other worthwhile products/information to those who joined my list to keep them on this list.

YES that is the way to go, too many of the giveaways are all IM related, we share the same list around and around and around.

You should try and build various niches up, its easy to get a product related to a niche and break it down into autoresponder emails, keep it green so its always relevant.

And when your joining the giveaways to build your list you should break up your autoresponder to move people out of the giveaway list into your niche list so that you know they are not freebie hunters, you get a higher response rate.

Actually what I was going to say is I just got 238 subscribers, plus another bunch of people joined my affiliate programme for my product, from the self help giveaway (I submitted an audio meditation I recorded with my self help book that it is part of as an upsell) and I was told that is an amazing response - although I was always led to believe that giveaways do produce these kinds of figures...maybe not so much in IM now.

The latest giveaway event that I joined was on Jun, held by Scott Case. I got only 9 subscribers. But I never follow up them with any emails until now. I'm too lazy to write emails. LOL
