Thread: Exit Popup Script

I'm looking for the script for an exit popup. I have one now that is supposed to operate on exit but always seems to operate on entry!!!

Preferably a free script if there is one out there.

The one I use is called the Before You Go Wizard..but, hopefully this one will do the job for you.

Thank you for that. Last night, I tracked that one down and installed the software. I created a popup for one of our sites to see what its like. I might use it however it does how their advertising on the popup which I'm not too keeen about.

I'll also have a look at the one you use.

may be is not of my business. but I recoment stay way of pop exit or entry script that is old school. and every user hate this. that is only my personal recomedation

I think most of us hate popups but when many of the highly successful internet marketers use them, is it not worthwhile looking at this marketing tool?

I find that exit pop ups really weaken the credibility of internet marketers. For example, you're on a product page. You decide to bookmark it and close the window. An exit pop up begs you to stay on the page and offers you a discount. That really makes the product seem pretty cheap to me. If the IM can't stand by their price, how good is it? That's just my two cents.

Exit pop ups do not always need to be a price reduction. The best I have seen offer and incentive to give your email address giving more opportunity for the marketer to bond with you...and gain your trust so you are more disposed to conducting business with them...

use exit splash, it's not free but well worth it. Most of IM use it around the web.

Yes, Exit Splash is a nice one for sure. It's got many options and settings for it as well which makes it quite versatile.

Perhaps, people don't enjoy them...but, there is absolutely no question about it..they work..and do so very effectively at times.

I agree with Hitmanpty.
Just because the big gurus use them that doesn't mean that they will work for every tom, dick and harry. They are "old hat" now. I know I am never going to return to a site where I am forced to click on box after box just to leave a site.

I agree Exit splash is one of he most popular ones. SO many people are using, it must be effective, but I have mixed feelings about exit popups.

There's a free script that allows you to create an embedded window (not a window alert popup!) when a user tries to leave your website.

It's user friendly - and you can see an example here.

Try it out. Try to leave by typing a new URL or closing the window. It less intrusive than an exit popup.

Hey webtester01 that a very nice script there where can i find that? one question for that site weekly traffic thingy, when the pop over comes up why aren't you asking for name and email for the free download? how could i put that in the code?

The reason I gave them a direct download instead of an optin is the website is a squeeze page to begin with. All the main/landing page does is providing you a software download in exchange for an email. So, if visitors do not want to enter their email, why would they want to enter it when they exit?

Of course, you can always modify it to an optin form if you want on a different kind of page. Just test it out and see what works.

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the script and tried to have a play with it. Now what im trying to do is embed my aweber form code into the script. Where would i paste my aweber code to overwrite the demo lightbox? Forgive me if thats a stupid question but im new to exit light box pop-ins or overs . By the way did i see you over at ericstips.com ?

PM me and I'll help you out with installing the script...all you have to do is put your aweber HTML code between the div tag.

and your div should go right above the </body> tag.
