I totally agree that earning online is not a quick rich scheme because it takes a lot of patience and hard work to actually earn anything in real life and in the web.

    95%!

    Why is that so high?

The answer is - because for most - an Internet Business is the first time they will have worked for themselves.

Now - there is NOTHING wrong with this - in fact it is to be applauded that many have the entrepreneurial bug...

...but it does mean the majority enter this business needing to learn some new skills first.

Most online - at one time or another - believe that just HAVING a product - means they are in business (this is not helped by so many so-called gurus who scream from the roof top how easy it is to make money online...)

Now please don't berate yourself if you once thought this - I did when I began! (in 2008)

But I have to tell you...
...a product is not a business.

There are a ton of people with great products - making no money. And let me add to this. A website is also not a business - again - there are millions of websites making nothing. So if a product is not a business - and a website is not a business - what IS a business?

    The answer?

    Customers.

Every successful business is in the SAME business...
...and that is the business of improving their customers lives.

    -- Chris Farrell

Robert Kiyosaki once said 'The rich build networks, everyone else looks for work.' Look at all the really successful online ventures - Twitter - Facebook - Linked In....They have all built networks. Look in the offline world. Sprint - TV networks - Ralphs... Call it a database - customers - list...it really doesn't matter.

They have built networks. Those that are successful - in ANY industry - have an INSTANT SOURCE of customers - that they have collected over time. And 80% of your income - will come from the SAME 20% of your customers.

    THE SAME 20%!

The very best thing you can do right now - is stop trying to sell something - and build your own list. Just 40 people buying a $27 product from you - is over $1000/month. Imagine getting 80 people. 100. 200. 500... How do you build a list? Easy.

You choose a profitable market - and then offer something of value for free. Free used to be a gimic - now it's a fully fledged economy. Why is this? Because there is no money in the front end any more. 10 years ago maybe - but certainly not now.

It's all in the back end. We build our list first - by offering something of value for free. Every successful business is in the SAME business....
...and that is the business of improving their customers lives.

You need to adopt a greater passion for what you are GIVING (your free gift) - than what you are receiving ($$$). Stop asking yourself 'How can I make more money' - and start asking yourself 'How can I help? How can I serve? How can I solve?' Every successful businesses understands this. It's not what you sell - it's what you stand for.

If you spent the next three months doing nothing more than building your list - that would be time very well spent.

    Sincere Regards

    Hi William,

Spot on and what people have got to realise is that these so called gurus are telling you exactly how they got to the top and teaching you what to do but "and this is the big but" in theory you are going to be doing exactly what they have already done.

So think about it if it's worked for them then to me when you come round to it then your going to be flogging a dead horse so to speak.

So again your paying more and more money to the gurus and your going end up with jack unless you start thinking outside the box.

Hi, isn't Internet Marketing pretty much like any business ? If you don't spend the time to learn it it properly, how can you expect to succeed.

You wouldn't open a cake shop if you knew nothing about cakes..

Why would you expect Internet Marketing to be any different?. I think the problem lies in the IMAGE, Internet Marketing has an image whereby people too often see it as a scam, people view network marketing the same - we all know it's not - but I think a lot of people view it as such and are extremely wary.

So when a person tries to do a little bit of affiliate marketing or something similar and they fail, they give up and think - perhaps it is a load of old rubbish.

It's like anything in life, if you really want to do it, you'll do it - if not, you'll give up...

I started marketing online in November 2007, and I can honestly say, it took me the best part of a year to make anything at all.

Yes, I agree with you Keith, the trouble is people do think it is easy to make money online and that it does not take a lot of effort, but we all know different.

That is why it is easier if you are passionate about something, like a hobby or have knowledge in what you are doing and put that into a business online.

later when that business is running on autopilot. you can learn new skills and keep moving on

You make a good point Dorg176! It always amazes me to see how many people think they magically make money overnight online; it is a business just like a brick-and-mortar establishment. It takes time, but is very feasible!

    Peace

So many people fail is because they are Opportunity Seekers (instant success) they want a pushbutton system that the money rolls in without them having to do very little. Reallity if you want to be successfull You have to Educate yourself, Understand your market that you are in and last implement (take action) a plan to get where you want tobe in life NO one can make you successfull on the internet I believe you can get help along the wayand find tools to help you but in the end it is up to You
    Hi

That is true what you say. however right method is also important. You may work hard and do exactly what a so called mentor tells you to but if the method is not sound you can waste alot of time.Do you think it is possible to get good help or is it trail and error all the way.I am willing to work, be responsible but I also want help and guidance

    best wishes
    Bede

    Hi Ian,

Thanks for the insight Ian. This article is so true...it's a great article as well.

Without the right mindset...one can fumble around and stumble.

"SHYSTERS"...now there's a word I haven't heard for a long many years!! But...you are so right about them.

I ended up being a victim of some of them and I must admit, I'm glad I realized that I was going in the wrong direction before getting too deep in debt.

I then chose to start from scratch and did it the right way. I learned first. I didn't go any further than that until I understood what I learned. Once I had the understanding, then I implemented everything.

What a difference it all made after that.

    Regards,
    Sandra Mae

Thank you thank you this confirms I am on the right Track with the mentoring group I am with. I would have had no idea of the different parts of my business withoutthe focused direction of my mentoring group.

Why do so many marketers fail to make money online? There are a numbers of reasons for this but it really all boils down to their mindset! When we first start out in our new online adventure we have all good intensions of making money but we do not really treat it as business only another form of income.

What do I mean by that? For any business to succeed it needs to put into place a system or systems, take for example the supermarkets! The way that they set out their stores is a system if you was blind folded and taken to Tesco’s when the blind fold was removed you would know that you was in Tesco’s because of the way they set the store out lead us through the vegetable isle and so on.

Having Reduced items or Free items so that you will buy, buy, buy but the biggest marketing tool they have is the loyalty card which has all their customers contact details and collects their spending habits, they have a System.

Most marketers when they first get online they start affiliated marketing, which is fine you write a few articles comment on a few forums place a few ads even pay for adwords and send them to an affiliates page so they can collect the contact details and they will pay you your commission.

You see they have a system in place that they can promote additional products or services, these are 5% they have set up a business system.

You can still do affiliate marketing but you need to set up your own system or systems that can be automated (Autopilot) a business that will work without you working it.

Well that all sounds great But how do I do that, you need to take one of your niche markets or sub niche markets and become an authority on that niche and you need to set up a opt in page (squeeze page, capture page) and a Autoresponder so that you build your database of niche based customers and find other products or services that you can offer and put them into your autoresponder.

Once you have done this you then need to get traffic to your opt in page again this is your business and you need to invest into your business.
There a number of methods to get traffic to your site Free Traffic, Paid Traffic, Automated Traffic, many different methods and techniques.

    Success to All
    Ian

This is so well said...yes I know exactly what you are talking about!!! One must never give up though!!!
