    Default Newbies Just Stay Focused

When I first started out I found myself going in every direction...going to webinar after webinar all I got was a BRAIN FREEZE!

Once I found a mentor that knew more than me and is successful...I gained huge strides in my online business...I have never looked back...I really never attend webinars anymore..I hang out with just a few IM experts not the ones you hear about...but behind the scene's making BANK!

Just do SOMETHING EVERY DAY. It’s not rocket science, and it’s not hard. Many of the most successful businesses and people in the world have figured out how to do something very simple that makes them money. And they do it over and over and over again. It doesn’t need to be groundbreaking or hard. It just needs to work. And this does.

Success doesn’t happen overnight. And yes, anybody who would want to attain victory must stay focused to the aim or target. And along the process or journey, there will be lots of hindrances and troubles but it’s okay- take chances.

I agree once you get past the learning curve and find a way that works for you the sky is the limit. Just duplicate the process over and over again.

I like all the posts in this thread - all are true. Keep doing something and maintain focus - I've found that to be a key. There are no get rich quick secrets - it takes lots of work, no doubt about that.

Could not agree more. Get a plan and stick to it. I started with Amazon because many others said that the commissions were rubbish and the 24 hour cookie put them off. By going against the tide I now have over 100 amazon affiliate product sites and $6000 commissions a month.

Not bragging just saying get a plan and stick to it and do not follow the crowd!

There are many methods for making money, which are presented online. It is OK to try the methods, but once you have found those that bring results to your business, stick to them. Remember not to do many things at the same time. Indeed, focus is very important.

Have a plan to follow when you enter into the internet. Otherwise, it is easy to get carried away by what you find online. At the end, you find that you have done nothing that adds value to your business.

    To your success.

Good advice ScottH. I guess this is where I am at now. I need a good mentor or 2 as I am overwhelmed by all the info out there and to be honest I don't understand most of it. I need someone who can clear the path a little for me and help me see past the fog. I have so many questions and issues, but I plan to keep going until I prevail. One of the problems I have is I am not very techically savvy, so I don't make the best use of my website and the tools it provides. I also am just starting out so I am treading carefully with articles and so on. It is quite tough, but I am sure I will get there eventually. I agree with Dan that there are no get rich quick secrets and I am steering clear of all these people who promise you riches for little or no effort.

    Excellent advice Scott.

I admit I did try a few of the "get rich quick" schemes and they were just that, schemes.

It's important to realize that there are minimal overnight successes out there. It takes hard work. Period.

And, while you're building your successful business, remember to put systems in place to make duplication as easy and quick as possible.

    Cheers,
    Pam

I have a question. I've been reading a lot of posts about keep going, keep trying. do something everyday. Well I have been, for about two month's now I have been advertising, placing ads all over, sending emails out(which I'm sure most are just deleted), joining forums, message boards, anything I can think off. putting up flyers(well some, honestly have no idea what businesses I should go visit to talk about my gift baskets store and see if I can leave a brochure with them) about my new business and am not seeing any results. don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting to make money right away, but would be nice to see something happening. Anyone have any advice? thanks

    Dear Hou816

I know how frustrating it can be but rest assured there will be a light bulb moment. I would suggest trying to master one skill before moving onto the next. For example, master article marketing and get your article skills to a stage where they are bringing in revenue then move on to another income stream such as list building. Treat each individual skill set as a business income stream and then when you have mastered them all it will be much easier to bring them all together in a light bulb moment.

    Good luck

Awesome advice Luke! I have spent the last year and a half researching and learning everything I possibly could and I just got my first campaign underway! Lots of hard work, but I know someday it will be well worth it! Keep up the great work and keep your head up Hou816, it will get better!

hey people. ok, if you all want to make a best start. i would recommend you to start building your list. You need to make a nice opt in page, where people can subscribe to your list and you can give out some free information. Next thing you need to do is get massive amount of traffic to your site and make your you note down the steps you take to get good targeted traffic to your site. Slowly your list will get bigger and in the mean time you can create a website and promote some products and make some money easy because you know how to drive targeted traffic to your site. Hope this help in short time

Wink Re: Newbies Just Stay Focused

Several replies on this thread have asked where to start. You have already started! Being here, asking questions, learning, that is the start.

Next you have two choices. You can follow the path many of us took, especially before there were good educational programs on the web about internet marketing - you can day by day, week by week, month by month slowly learn every skill you need to build, launch and maintain a website, learn how to use an auto responder, learn how to acquire or create free quality products to attract customers, build your list through article marketing and other strategies, build your website, become an affiliate of other products to start the income flow, continue to learn and build and eventually market your own products.

Or, you can do some investigation into the learning programs that are available and find one that fits you and speed that process up immeasurably. Yes it takes some money, but not as much as you may think.

Marketers will lie to you and tell you can do this all on a shoe string, on less than $100 or some nonsense like that. Don't even take any of that seriously.

Your minimum up front investment will be something like this, not including any education expense:

$12.00 - your URL or .com name
$100.00 - your basic autoresponder cost for one year
$100.00 - some miscellaneous costs and software
    $125.00 - web hosting for a year
$25.00 - some downloads of Private Label Rights materials to get your freebie product started.

So, assuming you already have your internet connection, computer and basic software that is about $362.00 just to get your foot in the door. You can do article marketing for free - just loads of your time and effort. You can start out this way and slowly work your way up. As you proceed you will have to spend a bit of money here and there for this and that.

You can also spend $2000 or $5000 on an extremely well marketed comprehensive course full of DVDs and books and guides and you may read them all and you may not and you may get your money's worth and you may not.

Or you can find a more reasonably priced option and try it. This is what I recommend. I do not know all the ones out there but I can tell you I've tried Chris Farrell's site and it is very good. For about $37 a month you have access to some amazing training - all video - and all done very well for the beginner. You can quit and any time so your initial risk is limited to $37.

I am not affiliated with Chris in any way. I am only a customer, but a very satisfied one. I looked at his materials after I already knew much of what he taught at the basic level but I still learned a lot.

By all means if you are not as satisfied with Chris Farrell's membership site products as I am post a message here and let us all know. I just doubt very much that will happen.

    Wishing you all the best,
