    Default Brain overload....

    Hi all

I joined this forum quite a while ago but I haven't been active here because of all the so called "Internet Guru" distractions. Anyway I have downloaded and read so many reports and guides which all contradict each other and now I am so confused as to which way to go to start earning online. So while I was deleting some long overdue emails I came accross a confirmation e-mail that I had signed up here and so that is how I landed up here again.

After reading through some of the posts here about staying focused (I can relate to some of these posts) I think I know what I need to do and that is to unsubscribe from all the vague and uninformative e-mails that make empty promises and maybe spend some time here reading through all the posts and start learning how to do this internet marketing thing.

I've received some e-mails from Kevin Potts about guiding and training people in Internet Marketing but being in South Africa I guess this is not really applicable for me. So taking into consideration that I am in South Africa could someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction where I can start learning how to be an Internet Marketer the proper way? Currently I work from home teaching basic computer literacy, so I do know how to use a computer and I have a high speed ADSL internet connection, I really am prepared to work hard and dedicate myself to this if someone will just point me in the right direction please.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Funkydelic-

Welcome to the forum. You did not specify what type of home business you are interested in doing from you home in S. Africa. IM as you know is a huge field that covers everything from selling vitamins to free lance writing and everything in between. I'm including a link that I started fall of 2009 about what to look for in any home business/IM which you can read here:
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

You can look at my site and see the business I am doing, and if you have questions you can PM me. I think you also need to approach IM irrespective of your home business niche-as relationship building first, which I have also started a thread whcih you can read here:
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

It is important to always think of relationship building your first priority. Relationship before Revenue. Because without relationships FIRST, we all would have no businesses.

If I'm allowed to plug my book (in my sig) it's a collection of posts from forum members telling you what they did and how they did it. (If not, please delete this post)
Not one guru amongst them! They are all ordinary people like us who have found a way of making money.

If I can give some advice - re-read all the info you've got so far, and something will click and say "You could do that!"

Then pick on that method and stick to it - don't go branching off into something else.

And TAKE ACTION! You can't reach for the moon if you spend all your time gazing at the stars

Focus on mastering one IM system before moving on to the next. I would recommend the following if you are starting out (none of the links are affiliate links):

    1. Go to payspree.com (less competition that clickbank) and find a product that interests you.

    2. Open up google keyword tool and type in the broadest keyword search term for the product chosen at in 1. above (for example: if a book on article marketing type in article marketing)
    3. Next click "exact match" which will put [ ] around each keyword showing the exact searches per month for that keyword.
    4. Write a list of all the keywords that have a exact match search of between 1000 to 2000.
    5. Open up google.com and search for each keyword with " " around it i.e. "article marketing".
    6. Cross off any keyword which has more than 60,000 search results. You will find the number in the top right corner of the page.
    7. Write an article using the keyword in the title, first paragraph and last. Article should be roughly 350 words.
    8. Open an account at ezinearticles.com and post all articles with 2 affiliate links in the resource box to the product salespage of the product you are promoting. The anchor text for the affiliate links should be the keyword used in the article.
    5. Once approved and published by ezinearticles.com, copy the articles and submit them to the top 10 article directories (just google search top 10 article directories and sign up for each one).
    6. Take the RSS feeds from each of your article accounts and submit to feed aggregators (again google search if needed).

Follow these steps and you will have one income stream.

    Best of luck

    Hi Funkydelic,
Something you said stood out for me, you teach basic computer literacy.
You may be able to build on your skills teaching around that theme online. I think there is a hungry market for teaching those that are bombarded by all the information thrown at them that confuses people.

It doesn't have to be computer literacy exactly, but think of themes around that idea.

You could be and not know it, a Guru to many. Think of it, an extreme expert in a field is not going to be good at teaching beginners (generally speaking only)...they are too far removed, and probably won't even compete with you.

I've seen internet marketing trainers that have not been doing it that long, but focus on training newcomers...it is an open market right now. (remember when you said you had to tune out the Gurus?) So many of us are tuning them out too...they are just confusing us with overly complicated info.

I hope that sparked some ideas for you.

    Hello!

I am a newbie and like the simplicity of your explanation. I will definitely be following your advice, howerver I have one question:

I thought that the top directories wanted articles with a unique content and that duplicating the same article might get it rejected?

    Dear Nickitta

This is an urban seo myth mainly leaked by people wanting to sell their latest article spinners. There is a major difference between duplicate and syndicate content. Google search Matt Cutts (who is an SEO expert and works for google) for an explanation.

Article directories syndicate content and I have never had a problem submitting approved ezinearticles to other directories. I would recommend taht you change the title and maybe a paragraph but that is all.

    Aloha Funkydelic!

I totally understand your frustration with brain overload! Although I've been doing internet marketing for a couple of years now, I still consider myself quite new.

I've signed up for so many different programs and so-called "gurus" and got NO RESULTS and a lot of debt!

I recently found the guy I was looking for this whole time. His name is Chris Farrell. Three words to describe him: Genuine, Real, Down-to-Earth. I've recently read his free e-book and implemented his teachings and it worked! He is a great teacher as he does not overwhelm and keep things very simple. Very beginner friendly.

Because I'm such a fan of his teachings, I'm now helping him promote his eBook for beginners.

Check out the link below my signature for the eBook. I'm confident you'll thank me later.

Your welcome! You will find that many IM techniques are very simple once you learn to ignore the hype and complication needlessly spun by "gurus". The only thing I would advise you to do is TAKE ACTION. Follow a system religiously for at least 3 months before ditching it!

A quick example: Last year I decided to branch out into Amazon products. It took me 2 months of research and testing to master the optimum page layout to promote physical products. My conversion rate is now roughly 14% . At the start it took me a month of solid writing, resarch and seo to put up 5 sites targeting physical products. The revenue started off at around $50 a month ($10 per site). Nothing to write home about. Fast forward a year. I now have over 140 of these sites (I reinvested the amazon commissions and outsourced the product review writing) bringing in roughly high 4 figures a month without lifting a finger.

TAKE ACTION and you will be surprised at what you can achieve!

    All the best Luek

    Regards

    Luke, that is very inspirational.
Your advice about sticking to one thing for a few month before considering ditching it is advice I can definitely use...as results take time to show up.
