Know what you really want for yourself. IM will require great hard work and patience; you have to bear these attributes if you really want to succeed. But it’s okay, if you are prepared enough, you can digest all the information in a short while and you’ll see- there will be hundreds of dollars in your pocket that instant!

It's simple, start from the beginning.

Get an idea of what you want to do then research your options. Once you have a better idea of where you want to go and what you want to do then explore the different avenues to take you there.

There might be some dead ends but if you don't give them a try then you'll never succeed as most of us turn a negative into a positive.

Never be afraid to return to the begininning if it isn't working for you.

    Warmly
    Kevin

Hello! In order to get your feet wet, I recommend that you start with affiliate marketing programs or products. The reason is that your main task is to drive visitors through your links to the Merchant's websites. Good programs provide you with the necessary promotional tools like banners, referral links, and training programs, which are Free. There are affiliate programs, which are free to join and promote, whilst for others, you pay start- up fees. You choose what is affordable for you. If you do not a sufficient budget to use for driving visitors to your website or blog, you can use free methods. These ones include article marketing, whereby you can write articles and post them with your links to article directories. You can do Blogging, and submit helpful posts to relevant forums. There are other great ways to make money online. But I hope what I have indicated gives you an idea. To your success.

I think its better to start with something you know about, although its very difficult to get started, I just did as much research as i possibly could, bought lots of rubbish ebooks and also got some decent ones, and pool every bit of good info you get into one area.

More you learn the easier it will become

Tricky question where should you start

Honestly only you can answer that.

What aspect of internet marketing do you want to go into?

If you are targetting adsense then perhaps finding the keywords you want to target and getting a relevant domain name would be the way to go

If it's affiliate marketing then Niche research and product identification would be your jump in point

If it's marketing your own product then building your website may be the most immediate think

    Identify the first step.

    Identify the last.

So long as you remain ethical and persistent it doesnt matter HOW you get there!

    Hope this helps!

I see that there is some advice here about starting off with affiliate marketing as the best option and all things considered, I agree. But... my first couple of attempts at affiliate marketing went bust. Flop. Because I chose the wrong niches. So I have this to add: please choose your niche very, very carefully. If you flop even after taking a lot of care, don't let it dishearten you. Consider it valuable for the lessons learned.. and keep going. Preferably, avoid these niches: make money online, weight loss & health, relationships. Best of luck!

    Hi venkyiyer,
I have contemplated this myself, but as a newcomer, can't solidify it. Could you be more specific in what didn't work for you in these niches? I'd love to know because I sort of feel pushed to start in at least one of these niches because the prepared niche marketing material is so easily obtained.....I think you are definitely saying something that many of us may already be thinking....

    Hi Anton,

My first attempt at the weight loss niche was a miserable non-effort, because I hardly got any traffic over about 8 months before I gave it up (my best performance was 500+ visitors in a month). The competition is tremendous in this niche. Another of my efforts, in the relationships niche (how to get your ex back) is faring better in terms of traffic, but is still poor in terms of sales. I have blundered in that I have not set up a squeeze page; my site leads the visitor directly to the vendor's sales page. After more than a year, I am no longer interested in setting things right in this site, and will probably be giving it up also soon. I find myself severely constrained in terms of ideas for new content in this niche. And as someone who likes to write, I hate the idea of rehashing something a few hundred thousand others are churning out.

I suggest you try bum marketing first; not only is it easy, you will learn a great deal about keyword optimization and writing good content, which are both essential when you get in deep with affiliate marketing.

This is a simple process in which you simply choose a niche (preferably one you are interested in), write a few articles each day and link to your blog or website, and make a few sales.

Once you have the basics down pat, you can then get in deeper with list building and expanding out in to other niches.

Try it out - in my first month with bum marketing, I made $600! Good luck to you

Seriously, the best place to start is by actually doing something, instead of trying to research it.

Find products you think people might be interested in.

    Make a website.

Collect a list of emails for people interested in said products.

    Sell the products to them.

I know it sounds simple but it really is. Don't let your mind get all clouded up. It's honestly way way way more easy than most people think.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'm here to help.

Blah, I don't have enough posts here to PM you.

Heres the PM i tried to send, haha. :p

"This is the place i stumbled across that showed me seriously in days how to have everything up and running and getting subscribers. Might now sound like much, but to have subscribers to a brand new emailing list in just a few days is crazy talk. The link goes to a free video course, that alone should help you out greatly. Take care man, and like I said, I'm here if you have questions and the like.
