    Default Free affiliate websites

Hi everybody. I am newbie in internet marketing. And I have a question to more experienced members. Quiet often, when surfing the net I see the offer of free websites(you only pay for domain and hosting), provided for newbies. Is it real to make money this way. And where is the catch? I try to google the review on free affiliate websites but can't find any serious information.

    Hi morningstar1,

I am a newbie too. I heard it is not advisable as you have share your web with freewebsite provider. Their ads will appear so it will not look professional enough if you are seriously into IM. If it is for leisure purposes then I think it is suitable.

    Hope this helps.

    Bye

My fear of this is the fact that you can easily have your affiliate link stolen...what is to stop the more unscrupulous from taking the credit for themselves?

    Hi Morningstar1

One of the main objectives in IM is developing your own mailing list and unfortunately in many of these schemes you're only increasing the mailing list of the promoter.

Keep an eye open for products that enable you to develope your own mailing list. Also, I have seen IMers put up squeeze pages to capture name & email address for themselves before sending the client onto the product.

morningstar1, everybody has to start somewhere and these sites grab the newbies attention with very pretty graphics and high promises to which some are free and some charge.

I would stay away from them and just like neil robins said

you have to have something in place for you to get the big benefits out of it otherwise your promotions, money and time may be wasted.

some dont give you much control over the page built for you / sites
and they will utilize it for there own purposes so be carefull and do some research as you said you have tryed.

but narrow it down to a product - brand name - success rates

hi morningstar1, i am a complete newbie as well, what don't make sense to me is that you have to pay for hosting to sell someone else product and they reap all the benefits. my guess would be that you get your own domain and create free squeeze page and offer some type of product of value for free and go from there, thats what i am trying to do but again you are getting advise from a newbie (disclaimer--i am a newbie, i don't have any experience in the im and my advice could be potentially harmful so you should not listen to me at all....lol) good luck and all the best

yes, a lot of people start off this way, but the kicker is in the actual wording ie affilliate marketing, a mistake that is made far too often is to get the free affilliate website and sit back. i may be wrong here but this is just what i have found.

When first starting off it is so easy to be distracted and lose your sense of direction with promises of fantastic wealth. Best to stay away and concentrate on only one thing, unless it is directly connected like list building, until you are up and running and by then you will know which are good and what are bad

    Hi morningstar1,
I agree with Neil...far too often you end up doing more good for the promoter than for your own business. There are sound ways to build your own list. Just keep your hand on your wallet until you see one with solid reviews.

I can see making a bit of money and even a list with this method, if you use an URL shortening service to link your cloaked link to a squeeze page hosted somewhere, which then passes the subscriber on to your Affiliate Webpage. While I haven't tried this myself, it might be a way to start, and even if you don't make any 'sales' from the site you at least have your own list of names if you're squeeze page works. However, it may not be easy to set up a squeeze page since the free host probably won't provide an easy method for this.

Thumbs up Re: Free affiliate websites

    Hi,

You've done the right thing by asking how to start. That is the #1 problem with newbies - not knowing where to start.

I have tried for years to make money online but never got anywhere until
    I found a mentor.

My advice is - to get a mentor you can trust - not one who forcing down his products down your throat, confuse you with his coaching methods and in the end leave you in the lurch - not knowing any better.

    Good luck

Thanks for you reply.Take it easy - be cautious, don't rush. Having a website site and domain name is a good start. Start a blog and get some free reading stuff online - learn about product, niches, article writing - get a much knowledge as you can abut the web business. See what others are doing.

    Good luck

    Hi Morningstar

I go along with Kingme. Start a blog with your domain name and, even if you do not keep it, use it as a training means. Practical experience is an important learning source.

If your hosting service for your domain name is good, open up your Cpanel, then Fantasico and find the free Wordpress blog software to install on your domain. There is a lot of free information available on installing Wordpress blogs and there personalization - just google for it.

With blogs its easy to try various themes available(a lot are free) until you find one your happy with and then start personalizing the blog and then monetizing it with affiliate programs. Good affiliates supply graphics (either 125x125 or 160x???) embedded with your affiliate links which you copy and paste into text boxes in the side bar or bars of your blog.

Try that to start with and keep learning as you go.

    Hi neil robins.
I did exactly what you said. I already install Wordpress on my domain in order to start blog. Originally it was intended to be about craft which domain name reflect.Only later I realized that this particular niche is very hard to monetize. This what stopped me.Now I try to think what to do with this domain or find the way to monetize this niche. But probably the best option for me just jumping in trenches and learning things on the go.
