Just curious to know how many bonus products to include and how to choose them?
I know I will choose a bonus that supplements my product, but my question is - how to choose bonuses so that bonuses don't overshadow your product?

- If you did not create them yourself you need to check that the rights you have to the products include giving them away as a bonus
- That the product is relevant to the product you are selling
- The number of bonus products is up to you but you should consider
- The cost of your offer
- The value of what you aree giving away
- What your competitors are doing
- also you may want to reeserve some of the bonus products as a surprise so that you overdeliver.

I would say from 3 - 5 is a good number - more than that and they tend to overshadow the actual main product.
Also, if you have graphics like box covers, CD Case, something like that I think it has more power.
Absolutely Eric. The whole thing with bonuses has become a circus.
I wanted to purchase a product awhile back but I didn't want any of the bonuses - things like free seminar tickets, free consultations, free kitchen sink etc. To make it worse other marketers were throwing even more junk. I was actually put off buying this product by all the junk - I felt swamped with stuff I didn't need so I didn't buy the product. Some time later I was sent a preview of the product and I was actually relieved I didn't buy it!
How many other people are feeling like me?
I sometimes think that some marketers get more thrills out of winning prizes that actually making money.
So if you have bonuses make them relevant and make sure that they are not something that everyone has collecting cyberdust on their hard drive.

Thanks Paul
I agree with Eric in the fact that the whole of Internet Marketing is becoming like a gigantic boot sale/garage clearout. There is SOOOO much junk being passed around it is actually doing a lot more harm than good to us all.

I only give bonuses when..
1. If it's a high value product I will add 2/3 relevant items - never more than 3
2. If I have relevant items which work hand in hand with the product I am selling.
I know this costs me a few sales but the leads I get soon trust me for providing real quality because I tend to give very good bonuses once they have bought a product or signed up on my newsletter.
Of course I am doing it all to earn millions of dollars lol, but seriously I want the trust and reputation first, then the money will follow.
Anyway thats my 2 cents worth I hope a few of you agree.

PS. I own a membership site, to join it is $1.00 (this is to comply with the rights conditions). For this I give access to a host of products for free (still quality but may be 2/3 months old) Once they have joined they see the REAL value inside with more unadvertised products and bucketloads of info & tips.

If I see a whole list of free bonuses, I start to wonder about the value of the sales item.
Also, most bonuses I've come across lately have required joining a list before downloading; then I get the inevitable follow-up sales letters with more offered bonuses yada yada yada, and so the cycle keeps repeating.
These days, I've become very selective of sales offers that I'll even read.

Mr 2 heads is right on this.
Don't follow the crowd, supply quality products that people want and don't try and "fluff up" your offer with pointless ebooks. In reality, it could actually lessen your offer if you load up with pointless bonuses.
You need to remember that it is not the quantity of the bonuses that count but the quality of what you are giving.
I look to give 2 or 3 bonuses depending on what the product is I am selling. I prefer to over deliver with bonuses that are given once the customer has already purchased from me.
