Thread: How to promote my site

Hello to everyone. I have a brand new site and i was wandering how can i promote it in Google or yahoo (how can i gain PR)?

Also i wanted to ask about a offer i received yesterday by one of my link partners. He mentioned something about a link

exchange site rank1.info ?has anyone heard of it, is it good, and will it help me in some way? I'm new to these things and i

Your question is not one that has an easy answer.
First you need to build your website so it has plenty of valuable content.
As far as marketing, you have lots of options including article marketing, social marketing, link trades, etc. It is also a very wise idea to set up a blog as a part of your site and post frequently because the more active your site is, the better your chances are of appearing in the search engines.

You need to make sure your site is properly optimised for the search engines.

I would not recommend thinking about trying to get a high ranking as you are so new. You need to do a lot of work before even appearing in the searches, let alone ranking.

Read the various threads in here and you will slowly learn what to do.
It is a long term goal, not a quick thing to achieve.

Start simple. Write articles and submit to the following directories:
Ezinearticles.com
GoArticles.com
Articlebase.com
ArticleAlley.com
ArticleDashboard.com
IdeaMarketers.com
Buzzle.com

and a lot more.

Make it a practice to write quality articles and submit at least 1 article per day to the above directories. You will get a lot more links and good traffic.

Just dot this alone, nothing else. Don't get distracted, and you'll see results.

Get quality high PR Links relevant to your site, and focus on SEO. I take promotion and PR as two different things, Promotion is to get your self on top of search engine that can be done by link building and SEO, either links are good PR or not you will get promoted on search engine, But to get PR you required Good PR links.

good luck with that, promoting site is really hack of a deal... i think the best option is to hire some seo expert or sem expert who can manage ur campaigns otherwise learning the basics to generates takes lots of time and really not very enjoyable.

If you want to promote your site and get fast traffic and business you can do SEO off Page and Off page optimization. You have unique keyword and content, good internal linking, directory submission, robot.txt, social bookmarking, article submission, press release, rss feed, classified, social media marketing etc. One more thing if your budget is capable to afford a service that is PPC(Pay Per Click).

Don’t do link exchange now, as you can submit your website into directories, classifieds and also promote through social networking websties like face book and twitter. & create one way link. But before doing these thing publish enough quality content on your website related to your product or services.

I know what a press release means, but where do you submit the press releases? I've just started my motorcycle apparel line and I've created a website, Facebook page, and a blog. Do I submit them to magazines that are in the similar interest? Any feedback would be appreciated!

Use Wordpress for your blogging platform and then search for a good plugin.

Your very welcome Malinda. Some of the sites may have closed down but most of these sites will put your press release on page one for the keyword you are choosing.
