Default 3 Tips On Article Writing

3 Basic Tips to keep in mind when writing an article.

    1. Keep to a single topic.
Don't write articles in several different niches at once. Write 5 or 6
articles on the same niche. This way you will look like an expert.
    Giving readers confidence.
    2. Research.
Do all your research first, make what notes your feel necessary and
use them when write your article. It may take longer this way but you
will seem more of an expert.
    3. Don't Give Up!
Even if you don't think your article is very good other people
will. The more you write the better you get and the more readers you
get will lead to targeted traffic which ultimately leads to sales.

You shouldn't publish articles if you don't think they are good. They should be checked for spelling and grammar, as well as punctuation because if they are hard to re ad, people won't think you're an expert.

Tip #4: Come up with a truly unique topic or angle. If it's been written ten times before, come up with a new way to write it.

Forget writing "How to trim a Christmas turkey". Instead, write "How even Mickey Mouse could trim a Christmas Turkey". Or how about "The Edward Sissorhands Turkey Trimming Guide".

Not only will this grab attention, be more likely to get linked to and picked up by other websites, but you'll have a lot more fun writing it.

Instead of length emphasize should be given to quality of the content.

I think Patrick's 3rd point is important. I don't think that we should avoid publishing something that we don't think is perfect. If we think it's pure crap then we either rewrite or scrap it, but that nagging "It isn't quite perfect" feeling that some of us struggle with is a dream killer.

If you are writing as a professional writer then that is a different story. You want your very best out there. But for those who are writing as a part of building our traffic and selling a product, don't let a perfectionist streak slow you down.

You may not get as much traffic as the perfect article would bring, but you'll get tons more than no article at all. Plus it is a learning experience and confidence booster.

Recently I've started using text to speech software to read articles back to me. I know they aren't 100% accurate when it comes to the pronunciation, but they do highlight problems i.e. are sentences too long, does what was in my head make sense out loud etc.

The reason I don’t read it out loud myself is because I’m more than likely to make the same mistakes that I made when writing it (because I know what I was trying to write, my brain makes sense of what I’ve actually written, whereas the software just reads what it finds), so hearing ‘someone’ else read it gives me a different perspective on the article.

Alan, that is a wise thing to do if you don't trust your own skills. I use the talk to text program to write my articles and I end up with some funny looking sentences before I go back and edit them.

I trust my skills, but my brain tends to go AWOL when it comes to the proofreading - so I let the software do it and just listen and pick holes in what it's saying.

Ah, yes. I've got a copy of one of those programmes. By the time you've trained it, and corrected what it thinks you've said, you could have written a small book.

I had a very interesting thing happen to me in university when I was working on a programming assignment. I had spent 2 hours trying to debug a simple 2 page program for an assignment. It just wasn't working and no matter how much I stepped through the code in my mind I couldn't see the flaw. When I finally broke down and asked my buddy to take a look he spent about a minute looking through the code.

"What does variable Y do?" he asked.

    "I don't have a variable Y," I replied.

"Yes you do. It's right here."

I had read that section of code at least 30 times and I saw 'X' because that was what it was supposed to be.

Moral of the story, as Alan says, an outside pair of eyes is beneficial for any proofreading/testing etc. since they don't have the preconceptions of what is supposed to be there.

@Alan. I do agree to a certain extent about the editing side of it. However, I have major spinal problems in my neck and so have to use it to prevent unnecessary pain.

@Lonewolf .. it is very true that an extra set of eyes can come in handy sometimes. I often ask a friend to check material I write, to see if I have missed something.
It doesn't help that I am also blind in 1 eye.

Any tools that make the job easier are worth it. For me, I can type fairly well so and I'm very comfortable with it so voice to text isn't worth the upfront cost in setup for me. But for someone who isn't a great typist or who has physical problems that make typing difficult then it is a great help.

It would also be useful if you carried a tape recorder around to record your works like Higgins on Magnum. Then you could transcribe the tapes with voice to text software.

LOL. That is why no professional writer (author, journalist, etc.) edits his/her own work. It's why all writers should be married - to have a ready-available proofreader.

There was an interesting puzzle in a book I read that went something like this:

    Sometime
    back in the
    the early days
    of our country.

People were to read what the ditty said, and very few people caught the double "the" because it was not what they expected in that context.

Maybe I am the exception to the rule.
I edit and proof all my own work.
Sometimes I ask a friend to give it a once-over as well, but he isn't a good editor.

Strange how our brain works, a similar puzzle was shown to me a little while ago:

How many 'F's are present in the following text?

    FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
    SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
    IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
    EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

    Firstly, read again, then count
    OK?

Most people count only three F.

    Count again. Then look below.

    How many this time?

There are 6 - most people miss those in 'OF' - I did, and nobody I've shown this to has got more than 4.
    Weird.

I have similar post as well:

Affiliate marketing these days are turning to one of the most popular businesses. If you choose an affiliate program instead of working 9-5pm, then there are no bosses any more, deadlines to meet, or piles of work to do by the end of the day. To succeed, you only need the tools. Here are the 5 tools to help you out:

    1. You must be willing to learn. Plating in an unfamiliar area is really difficult, especially if the lack of knowledge. This is a combination of the right frame of mind, coupled with a strong work ethic.

During start up, you should be prepared to keep your eyes and ears open, using the experience of others to learn more about the march.

    2. You must be willing to invest time and effort to help your business grow, even if you do not see immediate results. Even though weeks may pass without hearing good news, it is very important for anyone who wants to get a foot in affiliate world.

    3. The third quality you'll need is determination. If you want to make it in the world of affiliate marketing, you must possess to push yourself forward.

    4. The fourth quality is discipline. If you teach yourself to work everyday with all of your heart and soul, you'll be that much closer to reaching your goals and making your dreams come true.

    5. The last quality you must have optimism. Bad attitudes should never discourage an affiliate marketer from pursuing their dreams to make life better for themselves or anyone around them.
