Thanks Mihira - I was unaware that Dolphin wasn't up to standards. I've been using it on a site without any problems for two years. But I trust your opinion. What would you recommend for someone without a lot of money?
    Depends on the requirement.
For discussion boards, there's phpBB3 and SMF. For CMS, there's a plethora of scripts (easy one would be CMS made simple). For blogs theres wordpress or if you want hosted blog then blogspot. If you want advanced CMS, theres Joomla.

The only caveat is that one has to empty the piggy bank to get VB..

I have been an admin and tech for various forums through the years, currently I run 3 active forums. I was using PHPBB, but have just switched all my forums over to SMF. I really enjoy using SMF and it was way easier to admin. If you have any forum questions feel free to PM me, or if you need a forum installed let me know and I can install the software for you
