    Hey Ropper,

Write, write and just keep on writing.

Read loads of stuff and study other writers' styles and how they have set out their writing. Over time you will begin to create your own style and the words will just flow from your fingertips.

If you do have any trouble starting, you should look in to taking a writing course in the field you're interested in to help build up your skills and confidence... and also your portfolio.

Also you might want to look at your typing, your posts on the forum frequently have mistakes in spelling or grammar; while this is no big deal here. if you want to be a good writer you will need to sort this out as even with great content careless spelling and grammar will make your writing look poor.

    Dear Ropper,

Study great copywriting and the people that write it.

Take time to really read great copy, then, copy it out by hand and re-write it.
Huge pain in the tush I know, but a great exercise.

Read all kinds of other texts, not just sales copy and not just copy about copy.
There are two kinds of great writers: poets and killers. Strive to figure out what
makes each one what they are.

Reach out to well known copywriters and ask them for advice on ways to improve.
I've done this with great success with two top copywriters. Do not be shy. but don't crawl either.

I've been writing copy for the best part of 20 years and it was a decade before I wrote an ad that was worth a light. The secret is to keep at it and to think again and again of one thing: is every word you put down moving the prospect closer to the sale?

Once you've finished a long draft, go back and cut it by fully one third. Your writing will improve drastically as a result. If any copy element (sentence, word, paragraph, whatever) is not pulling its weight, nuke it. Your reader will thank you.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

You have had lots of good tips offered.
I agree with them all. Practice, read, learn.
Read everything you can get your hands on about copy writing so you get different viewpoints. Practice writing anything and everything. Articles, posts, comments, anything just to get used to writing and to enable your mind to think fast as well.

To be honest you are either great, okay or rubbish at copywriting. The ideal spot is great but okay doesn't harm you! If you are rubbish there is probably no hope.

The thing is, if your good at writing then your probably going to be a good copywriter but if you feel your not or you don't have the time then why not hire someone.

The biggest mistake people can make is that they think they are experts overnight and try writing copy that they think is good but some others will think otherwise.

    Hi Guys,

I am actually organising a webinar with a copywriter and this will be in a couple of weeks time.

If youd like to get the dates once it's fixed then let me know.

There is no cost at all and this guy is making good money writing his own copy but also doing work for others.

Just PM me if you are interested

    Cheers
