Default First Page Rank to 750+! I would have loved it the other way round

Some said, it's Google Dance and I consoled my self

My site went from a first page rank for a few very competitive keywords to being deindexed for a week and now it has returned at #752.

If this is Google dance, I am scared, I lost a lot of income because of it. Can't really guess whether my site will actually return to its original position not? I don't mind sacrificing all my marketing efforts and higher positions if it returns to its original rank.

    Any suggestions?

Can you tell us what you have been doing to market your page recently? Any new automated software you are using?
It might also be the new Google algorythm that has dropped page rank for many many marketers and some got sandboxed altogether.
One thing you might do is go over Googles TOS and then go over your website with a fine tooth comb to see if you have any violations.

I am sorry this happened to you. It is disheartening when you have a setback. Another reason to have multiple streams of income so you don't lose it all if Google pulls the plug on you.

    @Cathy

Not using any automated software except for the freetrafficsystem.com. Besides, reciprocal exchange and EZA submissions only. A day before I noticed this, I had subscribed to Angela's packets but again, more than a week into this, I am still not finished with it, so you can make out that I am going pretty slow on this.

By the way, my PR is still same.

    @Eric
Yes, I am promoting weight loss and abs exercise products but no products even remotely related to or named Google. Could it be because I have product banners on my home page? If yes, then could you tell why has the entire site gone so deep down, please?

My guess would be the niche you are in is getting slapped. I have used the Angela links on my non-IM, non-health sites and they steadily rise up the SERP and my blog assistant biz ranked on first page and is still there and I have been heavily doing Angela links for it. Reciprocal links are not always a good bet. As they hold very little wieght with the search engines. I am not familiar with the free traffic systems but if it is automated and leaves a dirty footprint that the search engines can see it will hurt your search engine placement.

My suggestion would be to find some non-spam related niches and dive into them.

If they are slapping these niches, it's really really very bad for us. Even Eric raised this issue. The free traffic system claims to be aware of this point you just mentioned but still, I am beginning to get unsure about it.

Let me think about this. Would you suggest a niche?

Well, I can't or won't suggest a niche, only because it is important to your business for you to learn how to do that process yourself. I can point you in the right direction of where to go to do that though.

    1. Go to Amazon and navigate to the magazine section. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of magazines in every niche imaginable. The reason this is a good place to start is the fact that if there is a magazine on any topic there is assuredly a market for it. Otherwise they would not have a magazine.
    2. From this, select a few that interest you to investigate further. And DO investigate.
    3. Next see if you can find the niche within Amazon and eBay's categories and take a look at what the best selling products are for that niche.
    4. Do the keyword research. (can't stress this point enough) You want to find a longtail keyword that has a decent amount of search traffic per month with a small amount of competition. Your success will depend upon this step.
    5. Take a look at the top 10 sites for your keyword. Are they all authority sites or could you knock them out of their spot with a bit of SEO work.
    6. Are people spending money on Adwords for this niche? That is another good indicator that people are making money from it.
    7. Focus and do the work necessary to make it a success.

I could go on and on LOL The whole truth is that you just have to dig in and learn the business if you want to succeed on your own.

That's very nice of you Cathy. But I still am concerned as to what could have really happened to my weight loss/fitness page and I guess it is really pertinent to dig into why Google had to do it. I am not fully convinced that Google can and will go after certain niches no matter what, even if I assume for a second that Google doesn't like spam. If that's the case, what else is adwords?

This could be the problem,Google hate affiliate links.Try to remove them for a while and see the effect. For a while I mean to the next deep crawl is over.

Well, Google made an announcement to the world that it was cutting down on what they deemed to be "low quality" websites in certain niches. No one, even the most experienced marketer, knows how Google does things. And if you spend all of your time trying to figure that out you will be wasting precious time that you could be spending developing a new income stream to replace the old one.
If you have taken a look at the Google TOS and looked through your site to make sure you are not breaking their rules and have found nothing, then move on.
It really does not do you any good to get "stuck" on fixing something that Google has decided is of no value to their customers.

Think of it as a learning experience, a lesson learned.

    Thanks for your inputs

    @ Cathy

I guess you are right as I see, it's certainly going to take ages to get the site back, if ever I could. So, it makes sense to move on. Thank you for your inputs, again.

This could be the problem,Google hate affiliate links.Try to remove them for a while ans see the effect. For a while I mean to the next deep crawl is over. Google want to give visitors useful, high quality content, not a flashy front page full of ads and affiliate links.I`m not saying your site is like this but give it a thought.
Yes, that is most likely it. If an entire site is set up solely to sell an affiilate link, with no other added value, it will drop in the SERP.
One thing you might try before giving up is to add more value to the site. Write some articles about the topic (without trying to sell affiliates on them)
You have to remember that Google's product is information. The more information you can give them to provide for their customers the higher you will be positioned in the SERP. If your site is strictly for selling an affiliate program Google doesn't consider it a value to their customers.

If one build sites like this (especially your front page which is your main mirror) AND add a good portion of healthy backlinks from a variety of sources, one will never go wrong.
A good quote I saw once : High quality backlinks will bring you fast up in the SERPS ,but the articles will keep you there.

Exactly. You have to have a reason for Google or any visitor to keep coming back. Doing a flurry of backlinking will get you to the top, just as any news story that is current and hot will be in top position, but when the activity cools off, the story disappears. It is the same for any website. The key is consistency. You can't just get to the top and then stop working it.

    Hi Alevoor,

If you believe your site adheres to Google guidelines

One time John Chow site was sandboxed for awhile because
he did something wrong. He contacted Google and his site
    reappeared in Google search engine.

    I hope this helps.

That could explain my experience as well. I have several blogs, and while none of them promote affiliate links except maybe one article or two on the entire site, they are in the health care and money business. They have original articles (I wrote them), so content is not the problem, but I will bet the niche is a problem.
I was about to forget about them for a while and see what happens. I am about to stop doing anything affiliate, I find it to be a tremendous waste of my time since I can just create my own product and sell it.

If you produce your own product you can look at affiliates from the other side. You get affiliates to promote your product.

Would you rather sell 10 products by yourself or have 100 affiliates each selling 1 product and getting 50% commission.

    Reed,
I should have clarified, I am stopping promoting other affiliate products and networks to concentrate on my own products and creating my own network. It was late last night
