Thread: How to get real press releases?

I was wondering if anyone had some good sources for real press releases. Perhaps a way to have them sent via email. I have a few from government offices etc... But Im looking for some real cheese so to speak. Like Hot hollywood press releases, world news, sports, weird off the wall, UFO sightings kind of press releases. Not sure if any tabloids offer such a thing. If anyone has any ideas please toss me some Hot toppings.

What you need to do is compile your own email database. Luckily it can be done yourself if you want to by visiting sites of news sources and newspapers, but you cab buy those lists as well I'm sure. Go to INfoUSA then segregate business data down to news media and then personnel, you will then eventually end yup with editor information.

This will be a big help. The prweb one is great the other one preasy seems to be in redesign as none of the links work they still have /# for page names but I will continue looking at them for updates.

PR Easy could be in redesign. I have used them and they operate a big service bureau.

I have 150 or so other online PR points most of which are free to use.

I talk about some of them in my video blogs each week when I go rambling on.

Can't remember which one...you'll have to trawl through them via the video blog section in this forum or via our Academy....which I hope you are familiar with. Each one is free and always has what I hope is some really useful information for newbies and advanced alike.

I will peruse though those and see what I can find. I have done several searches on the web some results good some not so. I really wasn't needing a PR on every gov office that updates their site or blog. Some of them have been ok like product recalls. I was more looking for those types of PR that your local news channel or newspaper recieves.

Your best bet is to try your local library, especialy if it's a good one as they could have many old PR's...
