So the best way to get better experience is be good to people, don't shy to ask question, help and be helped, stay motivated, always trying to learn and most important thing take action quickly once enough knowledge is already gained.

Thank you. We are a little overwhelmed at the moment so many things that we need to do FIRST. We do have a list of things to get started and will be talking to our advisor this afternoon so hopefully that will give us some clarity.

There is a free ebook in the link to my signature, no signing up to a mailing list required, I found some invaluable early advice in this particular book.

Other than that as others have said there is loads of great info here and I urge you to have a good look around, and make plenty of notes.
